I am Bethany, a London based calligrapher specialising in one of the most elegant calligraphic hands known as the Copperplate Script.

The majority of my work involves calligraphic projects for private clients, independent businesses, weddings and corporate events.  

My life has always been filled with music. I started to play the violin at the age of 8 and carried on my studies to gain a Masters in Music.

 In 2019,  I started my calligraphic journey learning online from some of the leading calligraphers across the world. I fell in love with the pure simplicity of the copperplate script and applied my approach to practicing the violin to my study of calligraphy. I was amazed at how the two disciplines intertwined.

 In my early days of practicing calligraphy, I spent my time copying letters written by Beethoven from ‘The Letters of Beethoven’ by Emily Anderson. These letters hold so much information about his life and personal emotions. Each letter highlighted the true power of written word. This is why today in a modern technological age a handwritten text can be so powerful. Not only can the recipient feel a heartfelt connection to the writer but they can sense the spirit of the letterforms which the human hand has created.

Calligraphy can be used as the greatest expression of any special celebration in life whether it be a place card or envelope for your wedding day, to a large scale piece of artwork for someone special.

 I love to create timeless keepsakes for all occasions.
